The Future Aimed by Change Group
Sustain the Future of Japan with the Power of People and Technology
"Change People, Change Business, Change Japan."
Under the above mission that CHANGE Holdings, Inc. (or simply, "we") has upheld since our founding, we are addressing various challenges faced by regions, keeping in mind the reality of the progressing population-declining society. To tackle challenges such as decline in regional vitality, shortage of successors, regional disparities, we are combining the power of people and technology to enhance productivity and create new economic cycles in the regions.
Furthermore, we aim to proactively respond to major external environmental changes such as the shift from deflation to inflation, accelerated supply constraints due to population decline, and the rapid development of AI (artificial intelligence), not just going with the flow.
We are bringing together the strengths of group companies and collaborating with municipalities, private companies, and local communities to shape changes one by one towards the realization of a sustainable society.
"Why do it?"
Transform Japan's population-declining society from the regions.
Our awareness of the challenge: population-declining society
- Working-age population will be half 50 years ahead, and its proportion in the total population will also decline to half.
- Labor shortages in the regions which occupy 60% of Japan's GDP will be more serious.
- It is inevitable to promote DX toward an "automatically circulating societies with fewer human resources."
Future Population of Japan(1,000 people)
GDP Composition(yen)
Japan's structural challenge is steadily progressing :"population-declining society."
As the aging population and declining birthrate advance, the shape of regional societies is also set to be changed significantly.
By 2065, the aging rate is expected to reach about 40%, and the working-age population is said to decrease by about 40% compared to now.
On the other hand, throughout Japan, there are numerous attractions such as world-renowned nature, culture, and technology that should be passed on to the next generation. There are living people who have supported the richness of the region for many years.
Moreover, the regions are also the "supporters" of Japan's economy. While the Tokyo Area accounts for about 35% of the domestic GDP, the remaining 65% is generated by the regions.
Cities and regions have a relationship of mutual dependence, including food supply and land conservation, and the decline of regions means the decline of the entire country. Therefore, the target of CHANGE Group to achieve "Change Japan" through its
business is consistently the "regional areas."
However, there is also the reality that the great potential is not being fully utilized due to labor shortages and industrial shrinkage accompanying population decline.
We aim to transform regional vitality into a driving force for Japan's growth, preserving regional sustainability while connecting to the next generation.
At the same time, we will serve as a "national complement force" that embodies the regional revitalization and regional future strategy advocated by the Japanese government on the ground, fulfilling the role of a national policy outsourcee supporting policy execution.
"How to do it?"
Three Approaches to Creating a Sustainable Future for Japan
To support the accelerating population-declining society in Japan, we are working on creating a sustainable future through three approaches.
1. Productivity Improvement
The decline in the working population weakens the power of all industries and organizations, and ultimately has a significant impact on Japan's overall economy.
Since its founding, CHANGE Holdings, Inc. has supported productivity improvement for many companies to create an environment where limited human resources can achieve higher results.
Through human resource development, organizational transformation, and robot solutions, we enhance the productivity of individuals and organizations, advancing the creation of an environment where even limited human resources can generate high added value, supporting the sustainable growth of Japan's industries and organizations.
2. Economic Circulation
Economic challenges arise when the flow of funds and people stagnates. Despite the various attractions in Japan's regions, their value is not fully utilized, and the mechanism for returning it to the region is not sufficiently established.
Through the development and dissemination of attractions across the country, we create a flow of funds and expand the flow of people, such as interest, relationships, and exchanges from both domestic and international sources, while constructing a new model where management resources like people, goods, money, and information circulate within and outside the region, aiming for the sustainable development of the regional economy by supplementing the shortage of management resources.
3. Defensive DX (Safe and Secure Social Infrastructure)
Utilizing technology is essential to support productivity and economic circulation. On the other hand, risks in cyberspace are increasing year by year.
By establishing an environment where technologies such as AI can be safely utilized and promoting defensive DX, including cybersecurity and data governance, we build a foundation that supports the overall safety and security of society.
By linking these three approaches, we will pass on the sustainability and vitality of people, regions, and Japan as a whole to the next generation. We function as a hub that collaborates with all players, designing optimal systems for regions without being constrained by centralized thinking, and addressing the shortage of regional management resources.
"Why can we do it?"
Execution power cultivated since founding and co-creation power through diverse partner collaboration
CHANGE Holdings, Inc. has supported the transformation of companies and municipalities through human resource development, organizational transformation, and DX support, while facing the reality of a population-declining society for over 20 years since its founding.
The "execution power cultivated on the ground" is combined with diverse partnerships built through M&A and alliances, creating a solid foundation for tackling social issues.
In addition to municipalities and companies, we collaborate with players from diverse fields that support society, such as national ministries, finance, education, and healthcare, and promote initiatives like DX advancement, regional revitalization, and business succession in a wide range of policy themes, including disaster prevention and defense, together with the people on the ground who are the stakeholders of the issues.
We continue to challenge Japan's structural issues with the "field power" cultivated since
our founding and "co-creation partners" who share the same aspirations. As a national policy outsourcee that implements various policies promoted by "1 Cabinet Office, 11 Ministries, and 3 Government Agencies" on the ground, we contribute to the realization of a sustainable society that will be passed on to the next generation while preserving Japan's traditions and culture.
"With the Japanese Government Towards a Sustainable Society for Japan"
The Japanese government has long faced structural challenges that may shake the shape of the nation, such as declining birthrates and aging populations, regional decline, and labor shortages. Moreover, Japan's ministries are trustworthy organizations with experience and knowledge that have supported societies from a public perspective.
Additionally, they are facing new environmental changes such as the shift from deflation to inflation and the rapid development of AI, requiring ideas and execution power that are not on the conventional extension line.
However, the systems and institutions built during the high economic growth period strongly supported Japan at the time, but they have not fully adapted to the rapidly changing global trends, missing the timing for transformation.
What is required now is fundamental transformation, along with collaboration beyond boundaries between not only the government and municipalities but also private companies, universities, and regional organizations to tackle Japan's structural challenges.
CHANGE Group, together with partners from diverse fields supporting regional economies and social infrastructure, such as government, municipalities, private companies, education, finance, and healthcare, will exert execution power as a national complement force to support policy execution and realize a society where Japan can sustainably grow.
We aim to realize a "sustainable future for Japan" by closely supporting the field of regional challenges faced by municipalities and tackling structural issues as partners of the nation and ministries.
